Meet Kyle Stiefel, DDS
Oral Surgeon in Plaistow
Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
As a general dentist for the first 14 years of his career, Dr. Stiefel is well aware of the anxiety and trepidation that his patients have coming in for an evaluation. His goal is to provide you with compassionate care.
Dr. Stiefel grew up in Washington state with his undergraduate studies conducted at the University of Arizona (Go Wildcats!). In 1996, he moved to the east coast and completed his dental school training at the University of Maryland.
The following years proved to be rewarding as he was commissioned in the US Army to serve this great nation. While stationed in Germany, he completed a year of post-graduate dental education and then served in a field unit, the 523rd Medical Company, in the Bavarian region. Here he met his wife, a West Point graduate who served as an Army Intelligence officer with multiple Iraq tours.
Alaska, Illinois, and New Jersey were the follow on steps working with the Indian Health Service, US Coast Guard, and another year of post-graduate training in exodontia with the US Navy.
In 2014, Dr. Stiefel finally took hold of his dreams and dove into his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center where he was exposed to the broad scope of the field over four years of training. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and maintains active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certificates.
On the personal side, both Dr. Stiefel and his wife continue their service in the military reserves while raising their daughter, son and Labrador retriever. Once again he established a woodshop as he had years ago in Alaska to make “the sawdust.”
